Job Overview
As part of the strategic leadership team of the Getinge’s Life Science Sterile Transfer Product Area, the Manager of Operations for Beta Bags in Merrimack will be directly responsible for the Beta Bag Operations.
This role will oversee production, help define business objectives, and provide coordination/communication of activities within various support functions to ensure achievement of objectives in the Beta Bag business.
The Manager will directly report to the Vice President of Sterile Transfer (Life Science) but have dotted line of local responsibility to the Director of Manufacturing within Merrimack. The direct reporting structure provides clear communication, direction, and responsibility for the business, while the secondary reporting structure will ensure compliance and coordination with local needs of the Merrimack facility.
The Manager will have direct oversight of the manufacturing resources, and influence over manufacturing engineering resources and additional dedicated resources as they are added to the Beta Bag organization. The Manager will work with and communicate with various parts of the organization to coordinate efficient operations for the business area.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Responsible for managing dedicated Beta Bag organization in Merrimack facility.
- Oversees successful daily operations of Beta Bag production.
- Serves as the Merrimack representative of the Beta Bag Product Area management team.
- Works with Life Science management for scoping and strategic direction of Beta Bag production in Merrimack.
- Collaborates with support functions such as inventory control, planning, warehouse, quality control, direct customer service, maintenance, Finance and others to ensure clear communication of priorities to assist the efficient production of Beta Bags.
- Manage daily communication to shift personnel and drive shift huddles and support functional team meetings.
- Participate in investigations and CAPA when required.
- Lead, coach and develop an efficient team; lead troubleshooting activities, provide investigation support, identify and implement process improvements.
- Drive resource planning such as materials, personnel and equipment to ensure seamless operations of manufacturing activities and motivate direct reports.
- Work with all team members to promote a continuous improvement culture regarding profitability and output of Beta Bags.
- Promote behaviors and principles that drive continuous improvement.
- Other duties and projects as assigned or as requested.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in operations, engineering, and/or product development is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Experience within Medical Tech industry or other regulated industries preferred.

- Ability to plan and allocate resources effectively to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Experience working with Lean or other manufacturing excellence tools is preferred.
Supervision/Management Of Others:
Responsible for the oversight of dedicated Life Science Beta Bag employees.

- Must be able to work with cross-functional teams to complete objectives.

- Occasional travel (>10%).
