Which manufacturing companies sponsor H-1B visas in New Hampshire?
BAE Systems in Nashua is one of the most active H-1B sponsors in New Hampshire's manufacturing sector, particularly for defense electronics and engineering roles. Other sponsors include Benchmark Electronics, Hadco (a TTM Technologies facility), and various precision manufacturing firms clustered in the Manchester-Nashua area. Larger defense contractors and electronics manufacturers in the state tend to have established H-1B sponsorship programs compared to smaller job shops.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Nashua and Manchester account for the majority of manufacturing H-1B sponsorship activity in New Hampshire. Nashua's proximity to the Massachusetts border and its concentration of defense and electronics manufacturers makes it the leading hub. Manchester, as the state's largest city, supports a broader mix of industrial employers. Concord and the Seacoast area around Portsmouth also have manufacturing operations, though H-1B sponsorship there is less frequent.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in New Hampshire?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field are eligible for H-1B sponsorship. In New Hampshire manufacturing, this includes electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, process engineers, and materials scientists. Software and controls engineers working within manufacturing environments also qualify. Production supervisor or general technician roles typically do not qualify because they don't require a specific degree field under the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire by employer, role type, and location. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate focuses on roles where employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship, which saves time and reduces uncertainty. Searching by the manufacturing industry tag and filtering for New Hampshire will surface the most relevant opportunities for your visa situation.
Are there any New Hampshire-specific considerations for H-1B manufacturing sponsorship?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages but does not change the federal H-1B prevailing wage requirements. Manufacturing employers in southern New Hampshire sometimes operate within the Boston labor market, meaning their H-1B prevailing wage determinations may reference Massachusetts wage data depending on the worksite. Employers with federal defense contracts also follow FAR compliance requirements, which can add steps to the hiring and sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B manufacturing jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
