Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in New Jersey?
The largest sponsors of clinical medical assistant roles in New Jersey include RWJBarnabas Health, Hackensack Meridian Health, Atlantic Health System, and Virtua Health. Large academic medical centers such as Rutgers Health and Cooper University Health Care have also filed for work authorization on behalf of clinical support staff. Sponsorship availability varies by facility, role volume, and hiring season, so confirming directly with the employer's HR team is always necessary.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in New Jersey?
Clinical medical assistant positions in New Jersey most commonly involve H-1B visa sponsorship when the employer determines the role meets specialty occupation criteria, though this classification is not automatic and depends on the specific duties and degree requirements of the position. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying allied health occupations. Some employers also support EB-3 immigrant visa petitions for long-term clinical support staff, particularly within large health systems.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Newark, Edison, Hackensack, Morristown, and Camden consistently show the highest concentration of clinical medical assistant openings tied to major health systems and hospital networks. The Route 1 corridor between Trenton and New Brunswick is also active, driven by academic medical centers and outpatient care growth. Suburban counties such as Middlesex, Bergen, and Essex tend to have the widest range of both hospital-based and outpatient clinic positions.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter directly for clinical medical assistant roles in New Jersey to see positions where employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Because sponsorship availability is not always listed in standard job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces this information saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking employers individually.
Are there state-specific considerations for clinical medical assistants seeking visa sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey does not require state licensure for clinical medical assistants, but many employers prefer or require national certification such as CMA (AAMA) or RMA, which can strengthen a sponsorship case by demonstrating a standardized credential. The state's dense healthcare network and proximity to Philadelphia and New York City create consistent demand. International candidates should also be aware that New Jersey's prevailing wage requirements under federal H-1B rules apply at the employer level and are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific occupation and county.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
