Which transportation companies in New Jersey sponsor F-1 CPT visas?
Amazon Logistics, FedEx, UPS, XPO Logistics, and Maersk have operations in New Jersey and have historically brought on CPT students in logistics and supply chain roles. Port-adjacent employers near the Port of Newark and Port Elizabeth also hire CPT-eligible interns for operations and data roles. Sponsorship availability varies by semester and department, so direct outreach to university recruiting teams at these companies is often productive.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most transportation F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Newark leads due to its proximity to Newark Liberty International Airport and the Port of Newark, making it a hub for freight, air cargo, and logistics employers. Edison and Woodbridge are active because of their warehouse and distribution center density along the Route 1 corridor. Jersey City attracts transportation technology and operations roles given its proximity to New York City and major corporate offices.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in New Jersey?
Roles that qualify for CPT must be directly tied to your major and authorized by your Designated School Official. In transportation, that commonly includes supply chain analyst internships, logistics operations roles, transportation planning positions, freight data analyst roles, and port operations internships. Hands-on driving or field operations roles that lack a clear academic connection are less likely to meet the curricular requirement your DSO needs to approve CPT.
How do I find transportation F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, including F-1 CPT, and by state, so you can search directly for transportation F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey without sifting through listings that won't consider your work authorization. Beyond Migrate Mate, connecting with your university's career center and attending logistics and supply chain career fairs at Rutgers or NJIT can surface CPT-friendly employers in the region.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in the transportation industry?
New Jersey's transportation sector is heavily logistics-oriented due to its port infrastructure and proximity to major distribution networks, which means many internships are operations-focused rather than corporate or tech-heavy. Your CPT authorization must list the specific employer and work location, so if a company has multiple New Jersey sites, confirm the exact address with your DSO before accepting. Students at Rutgers, NJIT, and Stevens Institute of Technology benefit from proximity to established employer relationships in this sector.
