Which media and entertainment companies in New Jersey sponsor Green Cards?
Several established media employers in New Jersey have a history of Green Card sponsorship. NBCUniversal's operations in the state, Audible's Newark headquarters, and iHeartMedia's regional offices have filed immigrant petitions for qualifying roles. Production companies, digital media firms, and broadcasting operations tied to the greater New York metro area also sponsor, particularly for technical, engineering, and senior creative positions.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most media and entertainment Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Newark leads New Jersey for media and entertainment employer concentration, anchored by Audible's headquarters and proximity to New York City's major networks. Hoboken and Jersey City attract digital media and streaming companies given their direct access to Manhattan. Parsippany and Florham Park host corporate media offices that periodically sponsor Green Cards for specialized technical and business roles.
What types of media and entertainment roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New Jersey?
Roles requiring specialized degrees or demonstrable expertise see the most sponsorship activity. Software engineers supporting streaming platforms, broadcast engineers, data analysts for audience intelligence, post-production supervisors, and senior content strategists are among positions New Jersey media employers have sponsored. General production assistant or entry-level editorial roles rarely qualify because the specialty occupation standard is harder to meet for those titles.
How do I find media and entertainment Green Card sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for Green Card-sponsored media and entertainment roles in New Jersey directly without sorting through positions that do not offer immigration support. Because many employers do not advertise sponsorship availability in standard job postings, using a platform built around verified sponsorship data like Migrate Mate saves meaningful time in your search.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for media and entertainment Green Card sponsorship?
New Jersey employers sponsoring Green Cards through the EB-2 or EB-3 categories must file a PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor, documenting that no qualified U.S. worker was available for the role. New Jersey's proximity to New York City means many media employers operate across both states, so your physical work location matters for prevailing wage determinations. Processing timelines depend on the applicant's country of birth, not residency.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card media & entertainment jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
