Which trucking companies sponsor Green Card visas in New Jersey?
Large carriers and third-party logistics firms with established legal departments are most likely to sponsor Green Cards in New Jersey. Companies operating significant fleets through Port Newark, the Port of Elizabeth, and major distribution centers along the Turnpike corridor have the volume and infrastructure to support PERM labor certification. Employers with existing H-2B visa or TN visa sponsorship history are generally more familiar with the Green Card process.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most trucking Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Newark, Elizabeth, Edison, and Secaucus are among the most active locations for trucking Green Card sponsorship in New Jersey. Newark and Elizabeth benefit from direct proximity to Port Newark-Elizabeth Marine Terminal, one of the busiest container ports on the East Coast. Edison and Secaucus host dense clusters of warehousing and logistics operations that generate consistent long-haul and regional driving demand year-round.
What types of trucking roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
CDL-A over-the-road drivers, owner-operators transitioning to employee status, fleet dispatchers, and logistics coordinators are the roles most commonly sponsored for Green Cards in the trucking sector. Positions requiring specialized endorsements such as hazardous materials or tanker certifications can strengthen a PERM application by demonstrating that qualified U.S. workers are difficult to source locally. Maintenance technicians and fleet managers with documented experience also appear in New Jersey PERM filings.
How do I find trucking Green Card sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for trucking roles in New Jersey where employers have confirmed Green Card sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application filing history so you can see which New Jersey carriers and logistics companies have a demonstrated record of sponsoring drivers and transport professionals for permanent residency.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in New Jersey trucking?
New Jersey's high cost of living means prevailing wage requirements under PERM can be significant for trucking roles, particularly in the Newark metro area. Employers must demonstrate through a supervised recruitment process that no qualified U.S. worker was available before sponsoring a foreign national. New Jersey's proximity to New York City also means some employers file under the New York metro wage district, which can affect the prevailing wage determination used in the PERM application.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card trucking jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
