Which companies sponsor visas for compliance analysts in New York?
Large financial institutions and professional services firms are the most active sponsors for compliance analyst roles in New York. JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, PwC, and KPMG have well-documented H-1B sponsorship histories in this role. Healthcare organizations such as NewYork-Presbyterian and technology firms with New York offices also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for compliance analyst positions.
Which visa types are most common for compliance analyst roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for compliance analysts in New York, given the role's requirement for a relevant bachelor's degree in finance, law, accounting, or a related field. Candidates with degrees from Canadian or Mexican universities may qualify for TN status under the NAFTA/USMCA professional categories. Individuals with extraordinary accomplishments in compliance or regulatory work may explore the O-1A, though it is a higher bar to meet.
Which cities in New York have the most compliance analyst sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the large majority of compliance analyst sponsorship activity in New York State, driven by the concentration of global banks, asset managers, insurance companies, and financial regulators. Buffalo and Albany have a smaller but present market, primarily tied to regional banks, state government contractors, and healthcare compliance. For international candidates, the New York City metropolitan area is where sponsorship activity is most concentrated.
How to find compliance analyst visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters compliance analyst roles in New York specifically to positions where employers have a history of visa sponsorship, saving time that would otherwise go toward screening out roles that don't support international candidates. You can browse current openings by role and state, and the platform surfaces employers with documented H-1B filings for compliance analyst titles. It is the most direct way to focus your search on New York compliance roles with real sponsorship potential.
Are there state-specific considerations for compliance analysts seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York's Department of Financial Services regulates a large portion of the state's financial industry, creating sustained demand for compliance analysts with regulatory knowledge specific to New York State frameworks. Employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications in New York City are subject to prevailing wage requirements that reflect the city's higher cost of living. Several universities including NYU, Columbia, and Fordham feed graduates into compliance roles in the city, and some employers maintain relationships with these schools for international graduate hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance analyst jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
