Which artificial intelligence companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in New York?
New York-based employers with documented F-1 OPT sponsorship activity in artificial intelligence include Google, IBM Research, Bloomberg, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, and a range of AI-focused startups in the NYC tech ecosystem. Companies enrolled in E-Verify are required to participate for STEM OPT extensions, so checking a company's E-Verify enrollment is a practical first step when evaluating sponsorship eligibility.
Which cities in New York have the most artificial intelligence F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the vast majority of artificial intelligence F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in New York, particularly in Midtown, the Flatiron District, and Hudson Yards where major tech and finance employers are headquartered. Brooklyn's DUMBO and Williamsburg neighborhoods host a growing cluster of AI startups. Albany and Buffalo have smaller but emerging AI hiring activity tied to university research partnerships and state-funded technology initiatives.
How do I find artificial intelligence F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters artificial intelligence roles in New York by verified F-1 OPT sponsorship history, so you can see which employers have actually filed for OPT workers rather than relying on job postings that may not reflect real sponsorship practice. Searching by AI job titles and filtering to New York on Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with documented OFLC Labor Condition Application filings in the field.
What types of artificial intelligence roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship in New York?
Roles that regularly qualify include machine learning engineer, AI research scientist, natural language processing engineer, computer vision specialist, data scientist, and AI product manager positions that require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a directly related field. Positions where a specific technical degree is a stated requirement rather than a preference are generally better positioned for OPT authorization, including STEM OPT extensions for eligible graduates.
Are there any New York-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in artificial intelligence?
New York's concentration of financial services and media employers means many AI roles are embedded within heavily regulated industries, which can affect hiring timelines and compliance requirements for OPT workers. New York State's AI and technology initiatives, including partnerships with Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island, have increased the presence of research-oriented employers who regularly hire international students. STEM OPT extensions apply to roles under qualifying CIP codes, so confirming your degree's classification with your DSO before accepting an offer is important.
