About us
Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the U.S. Only 4% of commercial rooftops host solar today — we’re changing that, fast. Commercial rooftop solar is the fastest, smartest way to build new clean power — delivering megawatts of generation in months, not years, and powering America’s energy and future right where it’s needed most. By turning rooftops into local power plants, we’re reshaping how — and how fast — energy gets built in the U.S. Recognized as the #1 Distributed Generation Developer by New Project Media, the #1 National Commercial Rooftop Solar Developer by Solar Power World, and winner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grand Prize for Clean Energy, Solar Landscape is defining the future of energy generation in America. Headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Solar Landscape has offices in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City and operates in over a dozen states nationwide. We move fast, solve hard problems, and take our work seriously — but never ourselves. We value clear thinking, accountability, and execution. At the same time, we’re collaborative by default, and believe the best work happens when people enjoy working together. Our team is made up of smart, grounded people who show up for each other — whether that’s troubleshooting a system design or catching up over lunch. If you’re looking to do meaningful work in a high-performance environment — and be part of the team reshaping how energy gets built in the U.S. — we’d love to meet you.

Which renewable energy companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in New York?
Companies with documented F-1 OPT hiring in New York's renewable energy sector include Consolidated Edison, National Grid, Orsted, Avangrid, and EDF Renewables. Larger utilities and independent power producers tend to have established OPT onboarding processes, while project developers and consultancies like AECOM and Burns & McDonnell also hire OPT students for engineering and environmental roles. Sponsorship capacity varies by employer and role, so confirming OPT eligibility directly with each employer is important.
Which cities in New York have the most renewable energy F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
New York City holds the highest concentration of renewable energy OPT positions, particularly in project finance, grid operations, and corporate sustainability roles. Albany is a secondary hub due to proximity to state energy agencies and policy-driven employers. Long Island supports offshore wind development jobs through the South Fork and Sunrise Wind projects, and Buffalo has growing clean energy manufacturing activity tied to the Western New York economy.
How do I find renewable energy F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters renewable energy jobs in New York specifically for F-1 OPT eligibility, surfacing employers with verified OPT sponsorship history so you're not guessing about authorization compatibility. Search by industry, location, and visa type to find roles at utilities, project developers, and clean energy consultancies actively hiring OPT candidates. You can also review employer Labor Condition Application filing history directly through the platform to gauge sponsorship activity.
What types of renewable energy roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship in New York?
Roles that commonly qualify include electrical and mechanical engineering positions, energy systems analysts, environmental scientists, GIS technicians, and project management associates. These positions generally require a degree directly related to the job function, which satisfies the OPT authorization requirement. Roles in offshore wind turbine engineering, solar array design, grid interconnection studies, and energy storage modeling align well with engineering and environmental science OPT categories. Purely administrative or sales roles less frequently qualify under technical OPT authorizations.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in New York's renewable energy industry?
New York's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act has accelerated clean energy hiring, creating more employer demand for specialized OPT talent than in many other states. Employers tied to NY-CHPS, NYSERDA grant programs, or offshore wind contracts sometimes require familiarity with New York State permitting processes, which can make candidates with relevant coursework more competitive. STEM OPT extensions apply to engineering and environmental science roles, potentially extending work authorization by 24 months if the employer is E-Verify enrolled.
