Which companies sponsor visas for project management coordinators in New York?
Large employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship records for project management coordinator roles in New York include JPMorgan Chase, Deloitte, IBM, Cognizant, and Tata Consultancy Services. Healthcare systems such as NYU Langone Health and engineering and construction firms operating across the New York metro area also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for these positions.
Which visa types are most common for project management coordinator roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management coordinator roles in New York, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, engineering, or information systems. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify under the TN visa category. Australians with relevant degrees may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and processes faster than the H-1B.
Which cities in New York have the most project management coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the largest share of project management coordinator sponsorship jobs in New York, driven by its concentration of financial services firms, consulting companies, and corporate headquarters. Brooklyn and Long Island City have grown as secondary hubs, particularly in tech and media. Buffalo and Albany see more limited activity, primarily through healthcare networks and state government contractors.
How to find project management coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify project management coordinator roles in New York where employers are actively willing to sponsor. You can search by role title and state to surface opportunities at companies with a documented history of H-1B filings for coordinating positions, saving significant time compared to manually screening general job postings.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for project management coordinators seeking visa sponsorship?
New York's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules mean sponsoring employers must pay project management coordinators at wage levels benchmarked to the New York metropolitan area, which are among the highest in the country. Candidates with PMP certification or a degree in project management, business administration, or engineering tend to have stronger petitions, as USCIS scrutinizes whether coordinator roles meet the specialty occupation standard.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management coordinator jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
