Which accounting companies sponsor visas in North Carolina?
Major visa sponsors include Bank of America and Wells Fargo in Charlotte, Deloitte and PwC offices across the state, and Credit Suisse's Research Triangle operations. Regional firms like Cherry Bekaert and Dixon Hughes Goodman also sponsor H-1B visas for specialized roles. Charlotte's concentration of financial services creates the highest density of sponsoring employers.
How to find accounting visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international candidates with North Carolina accounting employers who sponsor visas. Focus your search on Charlotte's banking district and Raleigh-Durham's corporate sector, where demand for international accounting talent is highest. Many positions require CPA eligibility or specialized experience in financial services or tax compliance.
Which visa types are most common for accounting roles in North Carolina?
H-1B visas dominate accounting sponsorship in North Carolina, particularly for senior accountant and financial analyst positions. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican CPAs, while L-1 transfers are common at multinational banks and consulting firms. O-1 visas occasionally apply for internationally recognized tax specialists or forensic accountants.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most accounting sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads with over 60% of the state's visa sponsorship opportunities, driven by major banks and financial services firms. Raleigh-Durham follows with technology companies and research institutions offering accounting roles. Greensboro and Winston-Salem provide additional opportunities, primarily through regional firms and manufacturing companies requiring international expertise.
Do North Carolina accounting roles require specific certifications for visa sponsorship?
Most sponsored positions prefer candidates eligible for CPA licensure, though North Carolina accepts international accounting degrees through credential evaluation. Bank of America and Wells Fargo often require CPA track experience, while consulting firms may accept ACCA or CA qualifications. Some roles specifically seek candidates with IFRS expertise to support international operations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
