Which companies sponsor visas for program supervisors in North Carolina?
Universities and health systems are the most active sponsors for program supervisor roles in North Carolina. Duke University, UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, WakeMed, and RTI International have histories of H-1B visa sponsorship in supervisory and program management positions. State government agencies and nonprofit research organizations based in the Research Triangle also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for program supervisor roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program supervisors in North Carolina, particularly at universities and nonprofit research institutions, which file LCAs for these roles each year. Some positions at public universities may qualify under cap-exempt H-1B provisions, which can simplify the sponsorship process. Candidates with research or academic backgrounds may also encounter J-1 visa opportunities at institutions affiliated with exchange programs.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most program supervisor sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, encompassing Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, concentrates the largest share of program supervisor sponsorship activity in North Carolina. This reflects the density of universities, research institutes, and healthcare systems in that region. Charlotte is a secondary market, particularly for program supervisors in financial services and hospital networks. Greensboro and Winston-Salem also have notable nonprofit and healthcare employers that sponsor these roles.
How to find program supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have demonstrated willingness to sponsor international candidates, including program supervisor positions across North Carolina. You can search by location to focus on the Research Triangle, Charlotte, or other markets. This saves time compared to manually reviewing job postings that rarely disclose sponsorship status upfront. Migrate Mate also surfaces relevant visa information alongside each listing.
Are there state-specific considerations for program supervisor visa sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's concentration of cap-exempt employers, including UNC System institutions and nonprofit research organizations like RTI International, is worth noting. Cap-exempt employers can file H-1B petitions year-round without waiting for the annual lottery, which benefits candidates who missed the cap or are between statuses. The Research Triangle's established international talent pipeline, particularly from NC State, Duke, and UNC graduate programs, means employers in the region are generally familiar with sponsorship processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program supervisor jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
