Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions architects in North Carolina?
Cisco, Red Hat, IBM, and Lenovo have significant presences in the Raleigh-Durham area and have historically sponsored technical roles including solutions architects. In Charlotte, large financial institutions and their technology arms, along with healthcare IT companies like Optum and Labcorp, appear regularly in Department of Labor sponsorship filings for technical and enterprise architecture positions.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions architect roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical solutions architect roles in North Carolina, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with prior approved petitions may also see L-1B transfers used by multinationals with North Carolina offices. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa as an alternative.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most technical solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and Durham within the Research Triangle account for the largest share of technical solutions architect sponsorship activity in North Carolina, driven by a dense concentration of technology and enterprise software companies. Charlotte is the second most active market, particularly in financial services technology. Smaller but growing clusters exist in Chapel Hill and Cary, often tied to university-affiliated research and mid-market software firms.
How to find technical solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that offer visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for technical solutions architect positions in North Carolina without sifting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. You can filter by state and role type to see active openings from companies in the Research Triangle, Charlotte, and other North Carolina markets that have a track record of sponsoring technical roles.
Are there any state-specific considerations for technical solutions architects seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle benefits from a strong university pipeline through NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke, which means employers in the region are familiar with hiring internationally educated candidates and navigating sponsorship processes. The state's relatively lower cost of living compared to coastal tech hubs means prevailing wage requirements can make sponsorship more financially accessible for employers, though each employer's willingness to sponsor still varies considerably.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions architect jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
