Which companies in Oklahoma sponsor visas for administrative assistants?
Energy companies including Devon Energy, Williams Companies, and ONEOK have sponsored administrative roles in Oklahoma, as have major healthcare employers like INTEGRIS Health, Mercy Health, and Saint Francis Health System. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University also periodically sponsor administrative staff. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends on the specific role, hiring need, and the employer's established sponsorship processes.
Which visa types are most common for administrative assistant roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B visa is the most widely known work visa, but administrative assistant roles often face scrutiny under the specialty occupation requirement, which generally requires a directly related bachelor's degree. Candidates with specialized expertise, such as legal, medical, or bilingual administrative skills, tend to have stronger qualifying cases. The TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible professional categories.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most administrative assistant visa sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City is the primary hub, driven by its concentration of energy sector headquarters, state government offices, and large hospital networks. Tulsa is a strong secondary market, particularly in energy, finance, and healthcare administration. Stillwater and Norman see some activity through Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma respectively, where administrative roles occasionally carry sponsorship eligibility.
How to find administrative assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify Oklahoma employers actively hiring administrative assistants who can support international candidates. You can search by role and state to see current openings in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and surrounding areas. Targeting employers in energy, healthcare, and higher education gives you the best starting point for administrative assistant sponsorship opportunities in the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for administrative assistants seeking visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's economy is heavily weighted toward energy, agriculture, and healthcare, so administrative assistants with industry-specific experience in those sectors are more competitive for sponsorship. Employers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific role and location, which is determined by occupational classification. Oklahoma City and Tulsa have different prevailing wage levels, so the city where a role is based directly affects the employer's sponsorship obligations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored administrative assistant jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
