Which energy companies in Oklahoma sponsor Green Cards?
Several large energy companies headquartered in Oklahoma have sponsored permanent residence for skilled workers. Devon Energy, Oneok, Williams Companies, and Chesapeake Energy are among the most active. Midstream and oilfield services firms operating out of Tulsa and Oklahoma City also have histories of sponsoring engineers, geoscientists, and technical specialists through employment-based Green Card categories.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most energy Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa are by far the two dominant markets. Oklahoma City hosts the headquarters of major upstream oil and gas companies, while Tulsa is the center of midstream pipeline and refining operations. Smaller clusters exist near the Anadarko Basin in western Oklahoma, where extraction and reservoir engineering roles are concentrated.
What types of energy roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Roles requiring specialized degrees and technical expertise are most commonly sponsored. These include petroleum engineers, reservoir engineers, geoscientists, pipeline integrity specialists, electrical engineers supporting renewable projects, and process engineers in refining. Positions demanding niche skills that are difficult to fill domestically are most likely to receive employer support for the PERM labor certification process.
How do I find energy Green Card sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface energy roles in Oklahoma where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship. Because standard job boards rarely make sponsorship status clear, Migrate Mate focuses specifically on international candidates, saving you time vetting postings that were never open to sponsored applicants.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Oklahoma's energy sector?
Oklahoma's energy industry is heavily tied to commodity cycles, which can affect hiring volumes and whether employers pursue permanent sponsorship versus temporary work visas. The PERM labor certification process requires employers to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available, so roles requiring niche petroleum engineering or subsurface expertise tend to move through sponsorship more smoothly than generalist positions.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card energy jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
