Which manufacturing companies sponsor H-1B visas in Oklahoma?
Spirit AeroSystems in Tulsa is among Oklahoma's most active H-1B sponsors in manufacturing, regularly filing for aerospace engineers and production specialists. Other notable sponsors include NORDAM Group, Siemens Energy, and various oil and gas equipment manufacturers based in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Defense contractors tied to Tinker Air Force Base also file H-1B petitions for manufacturing and engineering roles.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Tulsa is Oklahoma's primary hub for manufacturing H-1B sponsorship, driven by its concentrated aerospace and energy equipment industries. Oklahoma City follows, with defense-related manufacturing contractors and industrial equipment companies sponsoring international workers. Bartlesville and Enid have smaller but active manufacturing bases, particularly in petrochemical and agricultural equipment production, where H-1B sponsorship does occur for specialized engineering roles.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Roles requiring a specialized bachelor's degree or higher are the standard for H-1B eligibility in manufacturing. In Oklahoma, this typically includes aerospace engineers, mechanical engineers, industrial engineers, quality assurance engineers, materials scientists, and manufacturing process engineers. Production supervisors or general operations roles without a specific degree requirement generally do not qualify. The job duties must demonstrate that a theoretical and practical application of a specific field of study is required.
How do I find manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma by employer sponsorship history, role type, and location. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing which employers sponsor, Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsoring employers in Oklahoma's manufacturing sector, including aerospace, energy equipment, and industrial manufacturing companies actively hiring H-1B candidates.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific considerations for H-1B manufacturing sponsorship?
Oklahoma's manufacturing sector is heavily tied to aerospace and energy, meaning demand for H-1B workers tends to follow those industries' hiring cycles. Oklahoma does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, so the federal H-1B process applies uniformly. However, roles at defense contractors near Tinker Air Force Base may require security clearances, which can significantly affect eligibility for foreign nationals and is worth researching before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B manufacturing jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
