Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Oklahoma?
Energy companies including Devon Energy, Williams Companies, and ONEOK are among the more active sponsors for project and program management roles in Oklahoma. Defense contractors like L3Harris and Boeing's Tulsa operations also hire internationally. Large healthcare systems and telecommunications firms in Oklahoma City have additionally filed H-1B petitions for project program manager positions. Sponsorship activity is most consistent at enterprise-scale organizations.
Which visa types are most common for project program manager roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project program managers in Oklahoma, given that the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. L-1B or L-1A visas apply when a candidate transfers internally from a multinational employer's foreign office. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering classifications.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City accounts for the largest share of project program manager sponsorship activity in the state, reflecting its concentration of energy headquarters, government contracting firms, and healthcare systems. Tulsa is a strong secondary market, anchored by midstream energy companies and aerospace manufacturing. Smaller sponsorship activity appears in Norman, home to the University of Oklahoma's research and technology commercialization operations.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can search project program manager roles in Oklahoma without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform is designed for international candidates and covers openings at energy companies, defense contractors, and technology firms across Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Setting up role and location filters on Migrate Mate helps surface relevant opportunities as new listings are posted.
Are there any state-specific considerations for project program managers seeking visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's economy is heavily tied to energy, aerospace, and defense, so project program manager candidates with experience in capital project delivery, upstream or midstream operations, or government contracting programs tend to be more competitive with sponsoring employers. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University supply domestic talent, but employers in specialized sectors regularly look internationally when specific technical project management expertise is needed. PMP certification strengthens sponsorship candidacy across most industries here.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
