Which cities in Oregon have the most investment management sponsorship jobs?
Portland dominates Oregon's investment management visa sponsorship market, hosting the majority of asset management firms and fintech companies. Lake Oswego also features several boutique investment firms that sponsor international talent. Eugene and Bend have smaller clusters of financial services companies, but sponsorship opportunities are limited compared to the Portland metropolitan area.
Which investment management companies sponsor visas in Oregon?
Columbia Management, part of Ameriprise Financial, is Oregon's largest visa sponsor in investment management. StepStone Group sponsors for private markets roles, while Umpqua Bank sponsors for asset management positions. Several fintech companies in Portland's tech corridor also sponsor visas for quantitative analysts and risk management specialists working with investment products.
How to find investment management visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate specializes in Oregon investment management visa sponsorship opportunities, filtering positions by sponsorship willingness and visa type. The platform connects international candidates with Portland-area asset managers, fintech firms, and pension fund administrators actively hiring sponsored talent. Focus on quantitative roles, compliance positions, and ESG investment management openings where Oregon firms frequently sponsor visas.
Which visa types are most common for investment management roles in Oregon?
H-1B visas dominate Oregon's investment management sponsorships, particularly for quantitative analysts, risk managers, and portfolio management specialists. O-1 visas are used for senior portfolio managers and investment strategists with exceptional track records. L-1 visas apply when international asset management firms transfer employees to their Portland offices or establish U.S. operations.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for investment management roles in Oregon?
Oregon's investment management prevailing wages are generally lower than major financial centers but competitive within the Pacific Northwest. Portland's growing fintech sector has increased compensation expectations for quantitative roles. Firms must meet Department of Labor wage requirements, with portfolio managers and senior analysts commanding higher prevailing wages than junior research associates or compliance staff.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored investment management jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
