Which companies sponsor visas for operations specialists in Oregon?
Nike's global headquarters in Beaverton, Intel's large Hillsboro campus, and Daimler Trucks North America in Portland are among Oregon's most active H-1B visa sponsors for operations-related roles. Precision Castparts, a major aerospace manufacturer based in Portland, also has a consistent sponsorship history. Larger multinationals with established HR and legal infrastructure are generally better positioned to navigate the sponsorship process than smaller Oregon employers.
Which visa types are most common for operations specialist roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for operations specialists in Oregon, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, or business operations. The L-1B intracompany transferee visa is also relevant for specialists moving within multinationals like Intel or Nike. TN visa status covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering roles.
Which cities in Oregon have the most operations specialist sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of operations specialist sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, logistics hubs, and manufacturing operations. Beaverton and Hillsboro, part of the greater Portland metro, are significant sources of sponsorship due to Nike and Intel respectively. Eugene has a smaller but active market tied to the University of Oregon and regional distribution operations.
How to find operations specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search operations specialist roles in Oregon without manually screening out employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces positions from companies with verified sponsorship histories, which matters in a state where sponsorship is concentrated among a relatively small number of large employers. Searching by Oregon city or metro area on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to realistic opportunities.
Are there state-specific factors that affect operations specialist sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are benchmarked to the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metropolitan statistical area for most roles, which reflects the region's cost of living and competitive talent market. Oregon's workforce is also shaped by a strong pipeline from Oregon State University's industrial engineering and supply chain programs, meaning employers are accustomed to recruiting internationally experienced candidates. Operations roles tied to Oregon's semiconductor and athletic goods manufacturing sectors tend to see more consistent sponsorship activity.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations specialist jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
