Which companies sponsor visas for service engineers in Oregon?
Intel is among the most active sponsors in Oregon, particularly for service engineers supporting semiconductor fabrication equipment at its Hillsboro campus. Daimler Trucks North America, Precision Castparts, and Leupold & Stevens also have track records of sponsoring technical roles. Larger multinational manufacturers and equipment suppliers operating in Oregon's industrial sector file Labor Condition Applications regularly for service engineer positions.
Which visa types are most common for service engineer roles in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for service engineers in Oregon when the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa under the USMCA, provided the role and credentials meet the relevant category requirements.
Which cities in Oregon have the most service engineer sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the majority of service engineer sponsorship activity in Oregon. Hillsboro is particularly notable due to Intel's large manufacturing presence. Eugene and Corvallis see smaller volumes, often tied to university-adjacent technology firms and research-focused employers along the Willamette Valley corridor.
How to find service engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for service engineer roles in Oregon without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results by location and role type to surface active openings at Oregon-based manufacturers, semiconductor companies, and technical service firms that have demonstrated sponsorship willingness.
Are there state-specific considerations for service engineers seeking sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's concentration of semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries means service engineer roles here often require specialized technical credentials, which can strengthen a specialty occupation determination for H-1B purposes. Oregon State University and Portland State University also produce engineering graduates who enter local hiring pipelines, so employers in Corvallis and Portland are generally familiar with the international talent pool and visa sponsorship processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service engineer jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
