Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for strategy and business operations roles?
Oregon's largest visa sponsors for strategy and business operations include Nike and Adidas, both headquartered in the Portland metro, along with Intel, which maintains major operations in Hillsboro. Technology companies such as Daimler Trucks North America, Precision Castparts, and various Portland-based software firms have also filed Labor Condition Applications for operations and strategy positions. Healthcare systems including Providence and Oregon Health and Science University occasionally sponsor for operations-focused roles as well.
Which visa types are most common for strategy business operations roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy and business operations professionals in Oregon, particularly for roles requiring a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA if the role aligns with an eligible occupation. Candidates with extraordinary achievements may explore the O-1 visa, and those transferring within a multinational company may be eligible for an L-1 visa.
How to find strategy business operations visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters strategy business operations roles in Oregon by visa sponsorship history, so you're not wasting time on employers who don't sponsor. You can search by city, role type, and visa category to narrow results to Portland, Hillsboro, or other Oregon markets. Migrate Mate aggregates roles from companies with verified sponsorship activity, which is especially useful for operations and strategy positions where sponsorship is less standardized than in pure engineering roles.
Which cities in Oregon have the most strategy business operations sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of strategy and business operations sponsorship opportunities in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, tech companies, and professional services firms. Hillsboro, home to Intel's largest U.S. campus, also generates demand for operations talent. Eugene and Salem have smaller but active markets through the University of Oregon system, regional healthcare networks, and state government agencies that occasionally sponsor for operations roles.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for strategy business operations visa sponsorship?
Oregon employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metropolitan statistical area for most roles in the state. Nike and Adidas, as large multinational employers, are cap-exempt H-1B filers under certain conditions, which can affect timing. Oregon does not have state-level immigration programs, but its university systems, particularly Oregon State University and University of Oregon, produce a pipeline of international graduates who pursue sponsorship in operations and strategy roles locally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy business operations jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
