INTRODUCTION
Fully On-Site Shipping Clerk 2nd Shift, Mon-Fri 3pm-11p
Responsibilities
- Lead start of shift with important information & job assignment.
- Build loads in VL10H.
- Generates & validates paperwork to ensure proper documentation for every shipment.
- Maintain truck registration log.
- Inspects all trucks to ensure loads are tarped & strapped.
- Organize truck traffic to maintain order and the schedule.
- Communicate with CSRs, other departments, and co-workers.
- Rotating position between shipping areas.
- Understand and work with all packing lists, bills of lading, export papers, dock receipts, envelopes, and stickers for all shipments.
- Properly load trucks and containers consistent with weight limit restrictions.
- Ability to operate forklift to load trucks and take inventory counts.
- Ensure accuracy when transferring material.
- Build partial pallets and course pack materials.
- Take physical counts as required to maintain accurate inventory of all finished goods inventory items.
- Use computer to accurately maintain Warehouse Locator System.
- Complete entries into SAP.
- Properly mark and identify special packaging for Exports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good basic mathematical skills and verbal and written communication skills.
- Employee is expected to be self-motivated and follow all safety rules.
- This person must be detail oriented and able to complete paperwork accurately.
- Information on all shipping documents to be identical to that on release.
- Legible appearance of all reports, logs, and files.
- Accuracy of all adjustments made to finished goods system.
- Accuracy of all physical counts of finished goods items.
- Professional appearance of all shipping documents.
- Knowledge of all shipping procedures.
- Proficient in computer use.
- Job requires standing, lifting, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing; climbing ladders or stairs several times per shift; and lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds; and wearing all personal protective equipment required.
- Ability to work in a variety of working conditions including, but not limited to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
