DESCRIPTION
Manage a high performing team of technical professionals and contribute to the direction of the Training and Certification organization. Lead the transformation of our certification exams as we accelerate our delivery timeframes and expand into new testing modalities to delight our customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead technical accuracy and exam integrity — serve as a senior AWS subject matter expert advising question writers and exam developers across the certification portfolio, ensuring content reflects current AWS services, architectures, and best practices
- Drive technical strategy — as a member of the Certification leadership team, contribute to the program's technical roadmap, influence how we evolve our exam development practices, and represent the engineering perspective in leadership discussions
- Oversee the architecture and building of next-generation tooling that modernize how we create, deliver, and maintain certification exams; identify automation opportunities and eliminate manual bottlenecks
- Lead AI and GenAI adoption — apply AWS GenAI services (including Amazon Bedrock and related AI/ML services) to automate and augment key workflows: exam integrity monitoring, fraud detection, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency across the team
- Manage a high-performing team — lead a team of Solutions Architects, set a high technical bar, foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and develop your team's skills in both AWS expertise and AI-augmented ways of working
- Partner across the organization — collaborate with exam development, psychometrics, delivery, and product teams to align technical solutions with business needs and certification program goals
About the team
The AWS Certification team is responsible for Credentials that validate a learner’s AWS knowledge and skills. There are currently Foundational, Associate, Professional, and Specialty exams that result in Certifications used by candidates to measure their knowledge and skills, and employers to find candidates with the knowledge and skills to perform tasks around AWS and AI.

- 8+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- 10+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
