Which telecom companies sponsor H-1B visas in Pennsylvania?
Comcast, headquartered in Philadelphia, is one of Pennsylvania's largest H-1B visa sponsors in the telecom and media space. Verizon and Lumen Technologies also have significant operations in the state and have filed H-1B petitions for technical roles. Smaller managed service providers and fiber infrastructure companies in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metro areas also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data as recurring sponsors.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most telecom H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia leads the state by a wide margin, largely due to Comcast's corporate headquarters and the concentration of enterprise telecom employers in the region. Pittsburgh has a growing presence in network infrastructure and technology-adjacent communications roles tied to its broader tech sector. Harrisburg and Allentown appear less frequently in LCA filings but do host regional operations for national carriers.
What types of telecom roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify are those requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field. In telecom, this includes network engineers, RF engineers, systems architects, software engineers building telecom platforms, data analysts focused on network performance, and cybersecurity specialists supporting communications infrastructure. Roles where any general degree satisfies the requirement, such as some operations or sales positions, are less likely to meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I find telecom H-1B sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface telecom roles in Pennsylvania where employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship. This saves time compared to manually cross-referencing job postings with Department of Labor LCA records. Migrate Mate focuses on international candidates, so the listings are filtered with sponsorship eligibility in mind.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for telecom H-1B sponsorship?
Pennsylvania does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but the concentration of large telecom employers in Philadelphia means many positions fall under companies classified as H-1B dependent under federal law. H-1B dependent employers face additional attestation requirements on the Labor Condition Application. Candidates should verify whether a prospective employer holds that designation, as it can affect the hiring process for international applicants.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B telecom jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
