What You’ll Do

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in supporting our doctors and providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care to canine and feline patients. Responsibilities include:

• Provide attentive patient care, including patient assessment and monitoring, diagnostic sample collection, intravenous catheter placement, medication and fluid administration, and other essential nursing procedures.
• Assist veterinarians with consultations, recheck examinations, and specialty procedures.
• Support patient care coordination for scheduled appointments, emergency transfers, inpatient consultations, and technician appointments.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, helping relay information and support them throughout their pet’s care.
• Coordinate appointments and procedures while helping maintain efficient patient flow and departmental organization.
• Perform medical calculations accurately and assist with anesthesia monitoring as needed.
• Stay current with developments in veterinary medicine through continuing education and ongoing learning.
• Collaborate with doctors and fellow team members to ensure exceptional care for every patient.

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate is a skilled, compassionate, and motivated veterinary technician who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced specialty environment.

Qualifications include:

• At least two years of professional experience in a small-animal clinical setting as a veterinary technician.
• State certification as a veterinary technician preferred.
• Strong technical nursing skills and a solid foundation in patient assessment, monitoring, and treatment.
• Proficiency in medical mathematics, including medication calculations and unit conversions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and a genuine commitment to patient care.
• The ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solution-focused in stressful or changing situations.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to anticipate patient needs.
• The ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or restrain patients weighing at least 40 pounds.

An interest in veterinary neurology and a desire to develop advanced specialty skills are highly valued.
