Which consumer goods companies sponsor E-3 visas in South Carolina?
South Carolina's consumer goods employers with international hiring activity include Michelin North America, headquartered in Greenville, along with consumer packaged goods manufacturers and distribution companies concentrated in the Upstate and Midlands regions. Retailers and household products firms with South Carolina operations have also filed E-3 visa and H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications historically, though sponsorship availability varies by role and hiring cycle.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most consumer goods E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg in the Upstate region account for the highest concentration of consumer goods employer activity, driven by manufacturing, supply chain, and corporate functions tied to the area's industrial base. Columbia, as the state capital and a logistics hub, also has consumer goods hiring. Charleston's growing port-adjacent distribution sector is worth monitoring for operations and supply chain roles.
What types of consumer goods roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In consumer goods, this typically includes supply chain analysts, product development engineers, brand managers, food scientists, quality assurance managers, and finance or marketing roles. General production or warehouse positions generally do not meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find consumer goods E-3 sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and state, making it straightforward to browse consumer goods roles in South Carolina where employers have indicated E-3 sponsorship willingness. Because E-3 eligibility depends on the role meeting specialty occupation requirements and employer willingness to file a Labor Condition Application, targeting companies with prior international sponsorship history, as reflected in Migrate Mate's listings, saves significant time.
Are there state-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in South Carolina's consumer goods industry?
South Carolina does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal E-3 obligations, but the state's manufacturing-heavy economy means many consumer goods roles are operations-focused, and not all will meet specialty occupation criteria. Employers in the Upstate corridor are experienced with international talent due to the region's global manufacturing presence, which can make the LCA and sponsorship process more familiar to HR teams there.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 consumer goods jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
