Which retail companies in Tennessee sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas?
Tennessee-based and operating retail employers with documented STEM OPT sponsorship activity include Amazon's fulfillment and tech hubs in Nashville and Memphis, FedEx's global headquarters in Memphis with its logistics technology divisions, and regional distribution centers for national chains like Dollar General, headquartered in Goodlettsville. These employers regularly hire for data science, supply chain analytics, and e-commerce engineering roles that qualify under STEM OPT.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most retail F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Memphis leads Tennessee for retail STEM OPT opportunities due to FedEx's headquarters and Amazon's regional logistics operations, which drive demand for supply chain analysts and data engineers. Nashville is growing rapidly with e-commerce and retail technology roles tied to corporate offices. Knoxville and Chattanooga offer smaller but active markets, particularly for distribution technology and inventory management positions connected to regional retail and wholesale operations.
What types of retail roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Tennessee?
Retail roles that typically qualify for STEM OPT must fall under a STEM-designated SOC code. In Tennessee's retail sector, qualifying positions commonly include data analyst, operations research analyst, logistics engineer, e-commerce technology specialist, and supply chain systems engineer. Roles focused on merchandising strategy, customer experience analytics, and retail technology implementation often meet the STEM OPT employer requirements when the position is directly tied to a STEM degree field.
How do I find retail F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for retail employers in Tennessee that have a verified F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on companies that have actually filed for this visa type. Search by city, role type, and industry to surface relevant openings in Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville. Confirming a company's prior STEM OPT participation through OFLC data is an important step before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Tennessee's retail sector?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects how prevailing wage comparisons work for STEM OPT positions since employers must still meet DOL prevailing wage requirements regardless of state tax structure. Tennessee's retail sector is heavily distribution and logistics-focused, so STEM OPT applicants should confirm their job offer ties directly to a STEM-designated SOC code. USCIS requires the employer to maintain a formal training plan for all STEM OPT employees.
