AllianceBernstein, which relocated its headquarters to Nashville, is one of the most active investment management sponsors in Tennessee and has hired F-1 STEM OPT candidates in quantitative and data roles. Regional firms such as Diversified Trust and Cumberland Private Wealth, along with larger institutions like Raymond James operating in the state, have also sponsored STEM OPT workers in analytical and technology-adjacent investment roles. Which cities in Tennessee have the most investment management F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?

How do I find investment management F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?

What types of investment management roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Tennessee?
Roles qualifying for STEM OPT in investment management generally require a STEM-designated degree and involve quantitative or technical work. Common qualifying positions include quantitative analyst, risk analyst, financial data scientist, portfolio analytics associate, and investment technology developer. Roles classified under financial analysis or operations research SOC codes are most commonly approved. Pure relationship management or sales-focused positions typically do not qualify, as they lack the technical STEM degree-to-role connection USCIS and DSOs require.

Employers must be E-Verify enrolled to sponsor STEM OPT extensions, a requirement all registered investment advisers and asset managers operating in Tennessee must meet before filing the I-983 training plan.
