Which retail companies in Massachusetts sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas?
TJX Companies, headquartered in Framingham, and Wayfair, based in Boston, are among the most active retail employers filing Labor Condition Applications for STEM-designated roles in Massachusetts. Amazon's fulfillment and tech operations in the state also generate sponsorship activity. Sponsorship decisions vary by role, team, and fiscal year, so confirming LCA filing history for specific positions matters.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most retail F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Boston concentrates the highest number of retail F-1 STEM OPT roles, driven by Wayfair's corporate headquarters and the city's broader tech employer density. Framingham is notable as TJX Companies' home base, with data and analytics openings. Cambridge, Somerville, and Natick also see retail-adjacent STEM hiring from both established retailers and e-commerce operations.
What types of retail roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Roles qualifying for F-1 STEM OPT in retail are those directly tied to a STEM-designated degree program. In Massachusetts retail, this most commonly includes data analyst, supply chain engineer, software engineer, business intelligence analyst, and e-commerce technology positions. Customer-facing or general management roles rarely qualify, as the connection to a STEM field of study must be documentable and direct.
How do I find retail F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters retail job listings specifically for F-1 STEM OPT eligibility in Massachusetts, surfacing employers with verified LCA filing history so you can focus on companies that have sponsored STEM roles before. Searching by the Retail industry tag and selecting Massachusetts narrows results to relevant positions. Confirming a role's STEM designation through your DSO before accepting an offer is a necessary step regardless of the platform you use.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Massachusetts retail?
Massachusetts has no state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal USCIS and DOL rules, but the state's competitive tech labor market means STEM retail roles often have strong candidate pools. Massachusetts employers subject to E-Verify requirements must confirm STEM OPT authorization through that system. The state's concentration of research institutions also means some retail employers draw intern-to-hire pipelines, which can affect full-time STEM OPT availability.
