Which companies sponsor visas for program supervisors in Tennessee?
Healthcare systems are the most active sponsors for program supervisor roles in Tennessee. Vanderbilt University Medical Center, HCA Healthcare, and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis have documented H-1B sponsorship histories through Department of Labor LCA filings. Large nonprofits, university research programs at the University of Tennessee, and state government contractors also sponsor program supervisors, particularly for roles requiring specialized degrees in public health, social work, or healthcare administration.
Which visa types are most common for program supervisor roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program supervisors in Tennessee, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as public health, social work, or business administration. Some university-affiliated positions may qualify for J-1 exchange visitor status. Program supervisors in certain research or academic settings at institutions like Vanderbilt or UT Knoxville may also see L-1 or O-1 pathways used by their employers.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most program supervisor sponsorship jobs?
Nashville is by far the leading city for program supervisor sponsorship jobs in Tennessee, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, nonprofit organizations, and state government agencies. Memphis is the second strongest market, particularly within healthcare and social services. Knoxville sees activity tied to the University of Tennessee system and federal contractors connected to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Chattanooga has a smaller but growing presence in healthcare administration and workforce development program roles.
How to find program supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find program supervisor roles in Tennessee where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship availability, so you avoid applying to positions where international candidates are unlikely to be considered. Focus your search on Nashville and Memphis, and prioritize healthcare systems, university medical centers, and established nonprofits, which have the strongest track record of sponsoring supervisory roles in this state.
Are there state-specific considerations for program supervisor visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects prevailing wage calculations under H-1B rules since the Department of Labor benchmarks wages against local market rates. Program supervisor roles in Tennessee's healthcare sector often require licensure or certification specific to the discipline, such as LCSW credentials for social service program supervisors, and employers must confirm the position qualifies as a specialty occupation before filing an H-1B petition. University and hospital employers in Tennessee tend to have established legal teams experienced with sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program supervisor jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
