Which companies sponsor visas for COOs in Texas?
Large multinationals with Texas headquarters are the most consistent sponsors for COO-level roles. Companies like ExxonMobil, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, AT&T, and Dell Technologies have filed for executive and senior management visa categories in the past. Midsize technology firms in Austin and healthcare systems in Houston and Dallas also sponsor operations leadership roles, though at lower frequency than Fortune 500 employers.
Which visa types are most common for COO roles in Texas?
The L-1A intracompany transferee visa is the most common pathway for COOs joining a Texas office from an overseas affiliate or parent company. The O-1A visa applies to candidates with documented extraordinary achievement in business leadership. The H-1B visa is less typical for C-suite roles but is used when the position qualifies as a specialty occupation and the candidate holds a qualifying degree.
Which cities in Texas have the most COO sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads in COO sponsorship volume due to its density of corporate headquarters across finance, healthcare, and logistics. Houston follows, driven by energy companies and international trade-focused firms. Austin's technology sector has expanded executive hiring significantly over the past decade. San Antonio has a smaller but active market, particularly in cybersecurity and financial services operations.
How to find coo visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters COO-level roles in Texas specifically by visa sponsorship availability, which removes the manual work of screening postings that don't apply to international candidates. Because COO positions are filled infrequently and often through direct outreach, checking Migrate Mate regularly and setting up alerts for Texas executive roles gives you the earliest view of positions as they become available.
Are there state-specific considerations for COOs pursuing visa sponsorship in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons and total compensation discussions during the sponsorship process. The state's concentration of energy, semiconductor, and aerospace industries means COO roles often require sector-specific operational experience. Texas also hosts several university research commercialization hubs, such as those tied to UT Austin and Texas A&M, that occasionally sponsor operations leadership for spinout companies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored coo jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
