Which companies sponsor visas for directors of program management in Texas?
Large technology and defense employers in Texas have established sponsorship programs for director-level program management roles. Companies including Dell Technologies, Texas Instruments, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Amazon, Oracle, and AT&T have filed Labor Condition Applications for senior program management positions in Texas. Healthcare systems such as HCA Healthcare and energy companies operating out of Houston also sponsor at this level, though openings are competitive.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of program management positions in Texas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or computer science, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may qualify for the O-1A. Multinational managers transferring within a company may be eligible for the L-1A, which can also serve as a pathway toward an EB-1C green card.
Which cities in Texas have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads in technology sector sponsorship for program management leadership, driven by major employer campuses and a growing mid-to-large tech presence. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, concentrated in aerospace, defense, and financial services. Houston is the primary hub for energy, petrochemical, and healthcare program management roles. San Antonio has a notable defense and cybersecurity concentration, with employers like USAA and several federal contractors sponsoring senior operations positions.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate lets you filter director of program management roles specifically to Texas and identify employers with active sponsorship. Because director-level positions are not always publicly labeled as sponsorship-eligible, using a dedicated platform like Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified sponsorship data, saves significant time compared to manually reviewing individual job postings across different sources.
Are there any Texas-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for director of program management roles?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and employer cost modeling for sponsored roles. The concentration of cap-exempt research institutions, including the University of Texas system and Texas A&M, creates some university-affiliated program management openings not subject to H-1B lottery constraints. Defense sector roles in DFW and San Antonio may require security clearances, which can complicate or limit sponsorship for certain nationalities regardless of visa eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
