Which companies sponsor visas for director of program management roles in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, and T-Mobile are among the most consistent sponsors for director of program management positions in Washington. Smaller technology firms in the Seattle metro, biotech companies in the South Lake Union corridor, and defense contractors serving Joint Base Lewis-McChord also file H-1B visa petitions for senior program management leadership. Sponsorship activity is concentrated in Redmond, Seattle, and Bellevue.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of program management roles in Washington, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as engineering, business administration, or computer science. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify under the TN visa category. Senior candidates with exceptional records may also pursue the O-1A for extraordinary ability.
Which cities in Washington have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Redmond account for the majority of director of program management sponsorship opportunities in Washington, driven by the headquarters presence of Amazon and Microsoft respectively. Bellevue has grown significantly as a secondary tech hub, with companies like Expedia and T-Mobile maintaining large program management functions there. Tacoma sees more limited but consistent demand through aerospace and defense contractors.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find director of program management roles in Washington without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results to Washington state and the specific role type to surface openings at companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Boeing that have active sponsorship histories for senior program management leaders.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for director of program management visa sponsorship?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons when the Department of Labor certifies Labor Condition Applications for H-1B petitions. Employers in the state must still meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metropolitan area, which reflects the region's competitive technology compensation environment. Washington's concentration of large H-1B-dependent employers means program management leadership roles here have an established sponsorship infrastructure.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
