Which technology companies sponsor E-3 visas in Texas?
Texas hosts a broad range of technology employers with established visa sponsorship programs, including Dell Technologies and its subsidiaries in Round Rock, Oracle and IBM in Austin, and large enterprise tech firms across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex such as AT&T, Texas Instruments, and Tata Consultancy Services. Cloud-focused startups and scale-ups in Austin's technology corridor also regularly sponsor E-3 visas for qualified Australian candidates.
Which cities in Texas have the most technology E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Austin is the most active city for technology E-3 sponsorship in Texas, driven by a high density of software companies and a strong startup ecosystem. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with significant demand across enterprise IT, financial technology, and telecommunications. Houston contributes opportunities in energy technology and cloud infrastructure. San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity sector, partly anchored by U.S. military-connected technology contracts.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Texas?
Roles that consistently qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Texas technology require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field directly related to the position. Software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, cybersecurity analysis, cloud architecture, DevOps, and product management positions commonly meet the specialty occupation standard. Roles where any general degree satisfies the requirement, regardless of field, are less likely to qualify and may face scrutiny during the Labor Condition Application process.
How do I find technology E-3 sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find technology E-3 sponsorship jobs in Texas, as the platform filters specifically for employers who sponsor the E-3 visa and lets you search by state and industry. This removes the need to manually screen hundreds of job listings for sponsorship eligibility. Filtering by the Technology and Software category in Migrate Mate narrows results to roles that match both the industry and the E-3 visa type in Texas.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in the technology sector?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how compensation packages are structured compared to states like California or New York, though this does not change E-3 eligibility requirements. Texas technology employers filing a Labor Condition Application must certify the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the specific role and location, which varies by city. Austin and Dallas prevailing wages differ from smaller Texas metros, so job location within the state matters for LCA compliance.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 technology jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
