The Senior Manager, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) is accountable for setting the standard for S&OP demand planning, governance, performance, and continuous improvement.
This role provides enterprise‑level leadership for demand planning and S&OP governance, consolidating and constructively challenging cross‑functional inputs, translating market dynamics into decision‑quality insights, and enabling timely executive actions. The Senior Manager serves as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, balancing analytical rigor with business judgment to drive alignment, accelerate planning maturity, and strengthen accountability for outcomes.
This leader drives cross‑functional alignment across Commercial, Finance, and Supply Chain; challenges assumptions and scenarios; and delivers clear, executive‑ready recommendations that enable the business to balance demand, supply, service, and financial objectives across the 3–24-month planning horizon.
In this role, a typical day will include:

- Lead enterprise demand analytics (trends, forecast accuracy, bias, volatility), converting insights into prioritized actions that improve plan quality, capability, and planning effectiveness.
- Drive cycle‑over‑cycle executive insights into demand plan changes, quantifying key drivers, risks, and tradeoffs and translating them into implications for supply, inventory, service, and financial performance.
- Establish enterprise governance for planning master data (product hierarchies, market/customer mappings, calendars, key assumptions), ensuring standards, ownership, and sustained data quality through cross‑functional alignment.
- Act as the senior demand planning leader and thought partner to Commercial and Finance, aligning on demand drivers, promotions, portfolio changes, and financial assumptions and ensuring decisions are captured and executed through the S&OP cycle.
- Lead governance of new product launch demand within S&OP, aligning stakeholders on assumptions, evaluating scenarios, and integrating launches into the enterprise demand plan with clear risks and mitigation actions.
- Enable portfolio and rationalization decisions by assessing item‑level demand and inventory impacts, governing phase‑in/phase‑out assumptions, and ensuring smooth transitions with minimal service and financial disruption.
- Chair Demand Review discussions, surfacing risks and opportunities, recommending tradeoffs, and driving timely decisions and ownership at each step of the S&OP cycle.
- Align strategically with S&OE leadership to translate approved demand plans into executable signals, communicate implications, and ensure an effective handoff from planning to execution with closed‑loop feedback.
- Own demand performance management across forecast accuracy, bias, plan stability, and inventory health—diagnosing root causes, setting targets, and driving corrective actions with accountable stakeholders.
- Lead executive communication for S&OP demand, synthesizing complex data into concise narratives, scenarios, decisions required, and action tracking for leadership forums.
- Sponsor and drive continuous improvement across process, analytics, and tools—standardizing ways of working, strengthening planning parameters, and elevating organizational capability.
- Provide people leadership by coaching and developing planners and analysts, setting clear expectations and performance measures, building succession and capability plans, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead GxP compliance and audit readiness for planning processes, ensuring documentation integrity, accurate records, and adherence to SOPs and training standards.

Which biotech & pharma companies sponsor Green Card visas in Texas?
Several large employers with Texas operations have sponsored Green Cards for biotech and pharma roles, including Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Medtronic, and Abbott. The Texas Medical Center in Houston, the largest medical complex in the world, hosts numerous organizations with established immigration sponsorship programs. Smaller CROs and specialty biotech firms in the Dallas-Fort Worth area also sponsor permanent residency for qualified candidates.
Which cities in Texas have the most biotech & pharma Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state, anchored by the Texas Medical Center and a concentration of pharmaceutical manufacturers and research institutions. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, with a growing cluster of medical device and biopharma companies. San Antonio has an expanding life sciences sector tied to military medical research. Austin is emerging as a biotech hub, though it skews more toward medical technology and health IT than traditional pharma manufacturing.
What types of biotech & pharma roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Texas?
Roles requiring advanced degrees in specialized fields are the most common Green Card sponsorship candidates. These include research scientists, biostatisticians, regulatory affairs specialists, clinical research associates, process development engineers, and bioinformatics analysts. Manufacturing quality and validation roles at large pharma facilities also frequently qualify, particularly when the position requires a specific technical degree. Roles where any bachelor's degree satisfies the requirement are less likely to be sponsored.
How do I find biotech & pharma Green Card sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by Texas, the biotech and pharma industry, and Green Card sponsorship to see verified employer listings actively offering permanent residency support. This is more targeted than broad job searches because the listings are filtered for sponsorship intent, which is particularly useful in a large state like Texas where not every life sciences employer sponsors Green Cards.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for biotech & pharma Green Card sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects total compensation comparisons but does not impact the federal Green Card sponsorship process itself. Most Texas biotech and pharma employers file under the EB-2 or EB-3 preference categories, and Indian and Chinese nationals should be aware that per-country backlogs apply regardless of employer location. Texas employers in federally regulated industries like pharma manufacturing are generally experienced with PERM labor certification, the first step in employment-based Green Card petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card biotech & pharma jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
