This position provides core clinical services within assigned treatment program. The incumbent provides leadership to clinical team and on-site management support in collaboration with the program manager/director.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Provides safe and appropriate specialized programs.
- Assesses patients, develops and implements treatment programs to meet the goals of treatment services and patient needs.
- Establishes treatment goals.
- Evaluates therapy results and modifies treatment plans accordingly.
- Develops discharge plans in collaboration with patient, family and treatment team members.
- Participates as an active member of the treatment team.
- Participates in the department and service delivery unit's quality improvement programs.
- Evaluates and assists in procurement of needed resources.
- Performs leadership role for therapy teams.
- Provides direct clinical supervision of programs, group work and family education.
- Serves as a liaison with all mental health and legal services as required.
- Assists program manager/director with providing on-site clinical and leadership interventions.
- Provides direct patient care in area of expertise.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
- Knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development.
- Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
Qualifications
Required
- Four years of progressive leadership experience.
Licenses Required
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- One of the following
- Current licensure to practice as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) in the State of Utah.
- Current licensure to practice as a Master Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (MTRS) in the State of Utah.
- Current registration as an Art Therapist (ATR) with the American Art Therapy Association.
- Current Music Therapy certification through the Certification Board for Music Therapy (MT-BC).
- Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) by the Art Therapy Credentials Board.
Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
