Which companies sponsor visas for COOs in Washington?
Amazon, Microsoft, and Boeing are among the most active visa sponsors for senior operations roles in Washington, given their global workforce needs. Mid-stage technology companies in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood and Bellevue's tech corridor also sponsor COO-level hires. Biotech firms concentrated around the Seattle-Tacoma area, including those in the life sciences cluster, have filed sponsorship petitions for senior operations leadership.
Which visa types are most common for COO roles in Washington?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for COO roles in Washington, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field. L-1A intracompany transfer visas are also relevant for candidates moving into a COO role from a foreign affiliate of a Washington-headquartered company. O-1A visas are an option for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement in business leadership.
Which cities in Washington have the most COO sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the largest share of COO sponsorship activity in Washington, driven by its dense concentration of technology, e-commerce, and cloud infrastructure companies. Bellevue and Redmond are significant secondary markets, with Microsoft's Redmond campus and a growing number of Bellevue-based tech firms actively hiring at the executive level. Tacoma and Spokane see limited COO sponsorship activity compared to the Puget Sound region.
How to find coo visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find COO roles in Washington where employers are open to visa sponsorship. You can filter specifically by state and role to surface relevant opportunities without sifting through positions that exclude international candidates. Because COO roles are often filled through targeted searches rather than broad postings, checking Migrate Mate regularly as new listings are added increases your chances of finding an active opening.
Are there state-specific considerations for COO sponsorship in Washington?
Washington has no state income tax, which can affect how employers structure executive compensation packages and how prevailing wage benchmarks compare to other major tech states. The H-1B prevailing wage for COO roles in the Seattle metropolitan area is set at a high wage level given the region's executive pay norms, meaning employers must commit to competitive compensation before filing a petition. Washington's concentration of multinational headquarters also means L-1A intracompany transfers are proportionally more common here than in most other states.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored coo jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
