Which aerospace and defense companies in Washington sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas?
Boeing is the dominant H-1B1 Singapore sponsor in Washington, with significant engineering and technical hiring across its Renton, Everett, and Seattle facilities. Other active sponsors include Blue Origin in Kent, Lockheed Martin, and mid-tier defense contractors supporting Navy and Air Force programs in the Puget Sound region. Sponsorship activity varies by role and year, so verifying current Labor Condition Application filings through OFLC records gives the most accurate picture.
Which cities in Washington have the most aerospace and defense H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
The Puget Sound corridor concentrates most activity. Everett and Renton host Boeing's commercial aircraft operations, making them primary hubs for engineering sponsorship. Seattle proper covers corporate and systems engineering roles. Kent is growing rapidly due to Blue Origin and several defense suppliers. Tacoma and the area near Joint Base Lewis-McChord also generate demand for defense-focused technical positions, particularly in systems integration and program management.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Roles qualifying for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In aerospace and defense, this covers aerospace engineers, systems engineers, avionics specialists, software engineers working on embedded or flight systems, structural analysts, and program managers with technical credentials. Quality assurance engineers, propulsion specialists, and cybersecurity professionals supporting defense contracts also commonly qualify under this standard.
How do I find aerospace and defense H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type, so you can search for aerospace and defense positions in Washington that have H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship history. This removes the guesswork of contacting employers who have never sponsored the visa category. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified Labor Condition Application filing records in Washington's aerospace sector, letting you focus applications on companies already familiar with H-1B1 Singapore processes rather than cold-applying broadly.
Are there any Washington-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship in aerospace and defense?
Defense contractors holding Department of Defense contracts sometimes require security clearances, which are limited to U.S. citizens and permanent residents, narrowing the available roles for H-1B1 Singapore visa holders. However, many commercial aerospace roles at Boeing and supplier companies do not carry clearance requirements. Washington's prevailing wage levels for aerospace engineering are set by DOL and can be verified through the OFLC Wage Search tool, and employers are required to meet those thresholds in the Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore aerospace & defense jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
