Which companies sponsor visas for licensed practical nurses in Washington?
The largest sponsors of licensed practical nurses in Washington include Providence Health and Services, MultiCare Health System, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, and UW Medicine. Long-term care operators and skilled nursing facility chains also file sponsorship petitions regularly in the state. Sponsorship is most common at larger health systems with established HR and immigration infrastructure, rather than small independent clinics.
Which visa types are most common for licensed practical nurse roles in Washington?
The H-1B visa is rarely used for LPN roles because the position does not consistently meet the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. EB-3 immigrant visas are the most common pathway for LPNs, often sponsored through PERM labor certification. Some employers use the H-2B visa or work with staffing agencies that hold Schedule A designation, which waives the PERM process for certain nursing roles.
Which cities in Washington have the most licensed practical nurse sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and its surrounding metro area, including Bellevue and Renton, account for the highest concentration of LPN sponsorship activity in Washington, driven by major hospital campuses and specialty care centers. Tacoma and Spokane are also active markets, with MultiCare and Providence operating large facilities in both cities. Rural areas in Eastern Washington occasionally post sponsored LPN roles at critical access hospitals facing persistent staffing shortages.
How to find licensed practical nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where Washington employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, including LPN positions at hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and long-term care centers. Searching for licensed practical nurse roles on Migrate Mate lets you focus on employers already open to sponsoring international candidates, saving time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship is unavailable late in the process.
Are there state-specific considerations for LPN visa sponsorship in Washington?
Washington requires LPNs to hold an active license from the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission before practicing, and most employers expect licensure in place or in progress before extending a job offer. Prevailing wage determinations for sponsored LPN roles are set by the Department of Labor and reflect Washington's generally higher cost of living, which can affect how employers structure sponsored positions. Community colleges across the state also produce a large domestic LPN pipeline, which means international candidates typically compete most effectively for roles at understaffed facilities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored licensed practical nurse jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
