Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions architects in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, and Salesforce are among the most active sponsors for technical solutions architect roles in Washington, given their large enterprise and cloud divisions based in the Seattle metro. Smaller companies including Tableau (owned by Salesforce), Smartsheet, and Avalara also hire for these roles. Enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, and SaaS companies in Washington have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship for senior technical positions.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions architect roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical solutions architects in Washington, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Candidates already holding L-1B intracompany transferee status with a multinational employer are another common pathway. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no annual lottery and is widely accepted by Washington's major tech employers.
Which cities in Washington have the most technical solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue account for the majority of technical solutions architect sponsorship jobs in Washington, driven by the concentration of enterprise technology companies headquartered or with major offices there. Redmond is significant given Microsoft's campus. Kirkland and Bothell also have a growing number of tech employers. Candidates open to the broader Puget Sound region will generally find more options than those restricting their search to Seattle proper.
How to find technical solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for technical solutions architect roles in Washington without sifting through postings that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces roles from employers in the Seattle metro and broader Puget Sound region that have an active history of H-1B and other visa sponsorship, which is particularly relevant for a senior role like technical solutions architect where sponsorship willingness varies significantly by company.
Are there state-specific considerations for technical solutions architects seeking sponsorship in Washington?
Washington's lack of a state income tax is a practical consideration when evaluating offers, since prevailing wage determinations for H-1B purposes are based on federal DOL wage levels and local metropolitan statistical area data for Seattle-Bellevue-Tacoma. The region's competitive tech hiring environment means employers are generally more experienced with visa sponsorship processes than in other states, and many have in-house immigration legal teams or established relationships with immigration counsel, which can streamline processing.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions architect jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
