Which hospitality companies sponsor visas in West Virginia?
Major hotel chains like Omni Hotels at The Greenbrier, Marriott properties in Charleston and Morgantown, and casino resorts including Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races have sponsored hospitality workers. Resort properties in Snowshoe and Davis also sponsor seasonal workers, particularly for ski season positions. Many positions are for management roles, culinary specialists, and guest services coordinators.
Which visa types are most common for hospitality roles in West Virginia?
H-1B visas are common for management positions and specialized roles like executive chefs or hotel revenue managers. J-1 visas support seasonal workers at ski resorts and summer tourism destinations. H-2B visas are used for seasonal housekeeping and food service roles at resort properties, particularly during peak tourism seasons from spring through fall.
How to find hospitality visa sponsorship jobs in West Virginia?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for West Virginia hospitality positions that offer visa sponsorship. Focus on resort areas like White Sulphur Springs, Snowshoe, and Davis, plus urban centers Charleston and Morgantown. Many opportunities are seasonal, so timing applications for spring hiring cycles helps secure summer and fall positions at major resort properties.
Which cities in West Virginia have the most hospitality sponsorship jobs?
Charleston leads with corporate hotels and conference centers, followed by White Sulphur Springs home to The Greenbrier resort. Morgantown offers opportunities near West Virginia University, while Charles Town has casino hospitality positions. Mountain resort towns like Davis and Snowshoe provide seasonal opportunities, especially during ski season and summer tourism peaks.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for hospitality roles in West Virginia?
West Virginia's lower cost of living affects prevailing wages, which can impact H-1B applications for management positions. Resort areas like The Greenbrier may offer higher wages than the state average. Seasonal positions in ski resorts often include housing benefits that help meet wage requirements. Urban areas like Charleston typically have higher prevailing wages than rural locations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitality jobs in West Virginia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
