Job Description Summary:
Our Company is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Primary responsibilities include ensuring accurate, timely financial transactions, maintaining strong internal controls, and managing accounting staff.
Job Description:
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately five accounting professionals
- Assign and review work to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment
Accounts Payable (AP) Oversight
- Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals, and disbursements
- Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
- Maintain vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable (AR) Oversight
- Oversee billing, collections, and cash application processes
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and minimize delinquency
- Partner with internal teams to resolve billing issues
Financial Controls & Reporting
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over AP and AR functions
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes related to AP/AR
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Controller and other departments to ensure alignment with company goals
- Support audits and provide documentation as required
- Support implementation of new systems or workflows as needed
Travel Requirements
Training will involve at least one trip to Minnesota. All expenses covered by the Company. No ongoing travel requirements outside of initial training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to AP and AR functions
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is a plus
