YOUR ROLE AS OUR HR MANAGER
As our HR Manager, you are more than just an administrator; you are a strategic partner. Reporting directly to the Executive VP, you will lead and be part of a dedicated three-person team to ensure Naturescape remains a place where people love to work. This role is a dynamic blend of high-level strategy (15%), team leadership (40%), and hands-on execution (45%), giving you the unique opportunity to both design the vision and see it through to completion.
People & Culture Leadership
You aren't here to reinvent our culture, but to champion the successful foundation we have built over the past four decades. You will act as the gatekeeper for the Naturescape "family" feel, ensuring our core values are woven into every interaction: Humility, Honesty & Integrity, Make It Happen, High Standards, Happy Customers, Efficiency, and Happy & Successful Employees. While our branches handle their own day-to-day hiring, you serve as their mentor and coach. You'll help them find and keep the best talent by:

- Empowering Through Training: Leading a weekly one-hour HR orientation for new hires and providing high-level training for our management team.
- Cultivating Retention: Identifying trends and implementing creative solutions to keep our teams happy, engaged, and successful for the long haul.
HR Operations & Compliance
You ensure the "engine" of the company runs smoothly so our employees can focus on what they do best. Alongside your HR Assistant and Admin, you will oversee the vital functions that provide our team with security and peace of mind:
- Payroll & Benefits: Ensuring total accuracy in our bi-weekly ADP payroll and managing our robust benefits packages (including our 200% 401k match!).
- Compliance: Navigating the essentials of FMLA, ACA, Workers' Compensation, and other legal, liability, and reporting requirements with care.
- Community Building: Organizing our Annual Company Picnic, a highlight of the year that brings our Naturescape family together.
Systems Development & Strategic Support
You won't just manage existing systems—you'll have a seat at the table to improve them. You will develop and collaborate on systems such as compensation, policy, and employment processes. Your regular and valued strategic input during executive meetings will directly shape the future of our 35+ locations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our in-house software development team to create custom solutions that streamline and simplify HR administration.
The Bottom Line: You get the opportunity to build and run modern HR systems & processes, the authority to lead a talented team, and the influence to support the executive direction of a stable, established company with an exceptional history and a continued desire for future growth.

Search Learning Development Manager Jobs in WisconsinLearning Development Manager Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for learning development managers?
Large Wisconsin employers with established immigration programs are the most likely sponsors for learning development managers. Epic Systems in Verona, American Family Insurance in Madison, Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, and major healthcare systems like Advocate Aurora Health have sponsored work visas for professional roles. Multinational manufacturers with Wisconsin operations, including Harley-Davidson and Oshkosh Corporation, also have the HR infrastructure to support sponsorship for senior training and development positions.
Which visa types are most common for learning development manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for learning development managers in Wisconsin, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in instructional design, organizational development, education, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Candidates with relevant credentials may also be considered under the O-1 visa for extraordinary ability, or the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose backgrounds meet the qualifying occupation criteria under the USMCA agreement.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most learning development manager sponsorship jobs?
Madison and Milwaukee account for the majority of learning development manager roles with sponsorship potential in Wisconsin. Madison benefits from the concentration of tech employers like Epic Systems and the University of Wisconsin System, both of which invest heavily in workforce development. Milwaukee is home to financial services firms, healthcare networks, and corporate headquarters where training leadership roles are more commonly found. Green Bay and Appleton occasionally post senior L&D positions tied to manufacturing and insurance sectors.
How to find learning development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify Wisconsin employers actively willing to support work authorization for learning development managers. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search by role and state to surface positions from companies that have a documented history of sponsoring visas. Migrate Mate is designed for international candidates navigating the U.S. job market, so the results are filtered with sponsorship eligibility in mind.
Are there state-specific considerations for learning development managers seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not have state-level visa programs, so sponsorship follows federal H-1B and employment-based immigration rules. One practical consideration is that learning development manager roles in Wisconsin are heavily concentrated in industries with longer hiring cycles, including healthcare, insurance, and higher education, which means sponsorship decisions often involve legal and HR review periods. Employers in the University of Wisconsin System are cap-exempt H-1B institutions, which is a meaningful distinction since cap-exempt petitions can be filed year-round without entering the annual lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored learning development manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
