INTRODUCTION
The Material Handler is a key role in EMIT's manufacturing facility, ensuring that materials, parts, and finished products are moved, staged, and supplied efficiently to support production operations. This position requires urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to keep work areas organized and safe, both inside and outside the building. Material Handlers directly support the daily production schedule provided by the Industrial Tech and/or Manager.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stage and organize materials in designated aisles as directed.
- Transfer finished products to the next scheduled production activity.
- Support production flow by moving parts, products, and supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Follow leadership direction to execute daily production priorities.
- Safely operate material handling equipment when required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ year of experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. repeatedly and remain on your feet throughout the shift.
- Strong organizational skills to ensure materials and products are staged accurately.
- Attention to detail to support production quality and efficiency.
- Comfortable working with a sense of urgency to meet production needs.
- Experience with forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Commitment to following all PPE requirements and workplace safety protocols.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and moving for the duration of a shift.
- Always use proper PPE when required.
- Follow safety protocols when using tools and handling cleaning materials.
