Your Everyday

• Obtains patient’s vital signs as directed.
• Communicate with patient’s nurse practitioner to report any out-of-range vital signs or patient/parental concerns.
• Assists with specimen collection such as midstream, urine/clean catch urine specimen, nasal swab, etc.
• After delineation, provides surface trauma or orthopedic care support per physician order or delegation of medical/nursing personnel.
• Check on patients both in patient’s rooms and emergency department waiting areas and escort them to treatment/testing areas.
• Answer unit telephone, call lights and alarms promptly to determine needs.
• Maintain clean room, unit and unit equipment as well as other unit areas refreshing supplies, linens, and disinfecting room according to policy.
• Assist in emergency situations as requested.

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or 2 years of experience in related clinical area.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute Non-violent Crisis Prevention certification.
