Emphasize your specialized medical imaging training
Healthcare employers understand that diagnostic imaging requires specific technical knowledge. Highlight your radiologic technology degree, ARRT certification, and specialized modalities like CT, MRI, or mammography to demonstrate specialty occupation qualifications.
Target hospitals and imaging centers with H-1B history
Large hospital systems like Kaiser Permanente, Cleveland Clinic, and HCA Healthcare regularly sponsor visas for medical professionals. Research their LCA filings to identify locations actively hiring international radiology staff.
Get state licensure requirements early in your timeline
Most states require radiologic technologists to be licensed before starting work. Research licensing requirements for your target states and begin the application process early, as international credential evaluation can add weeks.
Highlight specialized certifications beyond basic ARRT
Advanced certifications in cardiac catheterization, bone densitometry, or interventional radiography strengthen your specialty occupation case. These credentials demonstrate the specialized knowledge that supports H-1B approval for healthcare roles.
Consider rural and underserved area opportunities
Rural hospitals and federally qualified health centers often have greater flexibility for visa sponsorship due to recruitment challenges. These positions may offer faster hiring timelines and stronger employer commitment.
Document your clinical experience with specific procedures
Immigration petitions benefit from detailed work descriptions. Quantify your experience with specific imaging procedures, patient volume, and equipment types to help USCIS understand the role's technical complexity and specialty nature.

Find Radiology Practitioner Assistant JobsFrequently Asked Questions
What degree do I need for H-1B sponsorship as a Radiology Practitioner Assistant?
You need a bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences, medical imaging, or a related field, plus ARRT certification. Some employers accept an associate degree in radiologic technology combined with extensive specialized experience, but a bachelor's degree provides stronger H-1B qualification. Clinical training and state licensure are also typically required.
Do hospitals sponsor H-1B visas for radiology technologist positions?
Yes, major hospital systems regularly sponsor H-1B visas for radiology positions. Large healthcare employers like Kaiser Permanente, Mayo Clinic, and Cleveland Clinic have established visa sponsorship programs. Smaller hospitals may sponsor less frequently but often have greater need for qualified technologists in specialized areas.
What are the H-1B approval rates for medical imaging roles?
Healthcare occupations, including radiology roles, typically have approval rates above 85% when properly documented. The specialized nature of medical imaging work and clear degree requirements support strong H-1B cases. Denials usually result from insufficient documentation of the role's complexity rather than the occupation itself.
Can I get sponsored for both CT and MRI technologist positions?
Yes, cross-training in multiple modalities actually strengthens your sponsorship case by demonstrating specialized knowledge across imaging technologies. Many employers prefer technologists certified in both CT and MRI due to scheduling flexibility. Your H-1B petition can cover multiple related duties within the same specialty occupation.
How to find Radiology Practitioner Assistant jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Radiology Practitioner Assistant jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international healthcare professionals with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on large hospital systems, medical imaging centers, and healthcare networks that frequently sponsor H-1B and other work visas for qualified radiology support staff. These employers typically have established immigration processes for specialized healthcare roles.
Do I need state licensing before my employer can sponsor my H-1B?
Requirements vary by state, but most require licensing before starting work. Your employer can file the H-1B petition while you're obtaining licensure, but you'll need the license before beginning employment. Some states allow temporary permits for international candidates with pending applications, which can bridge timing gaps.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Radiology Practitioner Assistant jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
