About the Job
Join our dynamic team as a Service Writer at The Country Club for Gearheads, where your enthusiasm for automotive excellence and exceptional customer service will drive our success! In this energetic role, you will serve as the vital link between our valued clients and our skilled technicians. Your passion for cars, combined with your ability to communicate clearly and efficiently, will ensure every vehicle receives top-tier care. You’ll manage service orders, provide accurate estimates, and upsell additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership profitability. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and needs
- Prepare detailed service estimates using estimating software, ensuring transparency and accuracy
- Write clear, comprehensive service orders that outline required repairs and maintenance tasks
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and timelines
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, or transmission services to maximize customer value
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including cash handling and payment processing
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Writer or in a similar auto service management role within a dealership or repair shop environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, air brakes, shocks & struts, tires, and oil changes
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of all backgrounds
- Experience in auto repair diagnostics and understanding of automotive repair processes
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience preferred
- Basic cash handling skills and comfort managing financial transactions
