Account Based Marketing Specialist Jobs in Maine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account based marketing specialist in Maine?
Account based marketing specialists in Maine are not required to hold a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and hands-on experience. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business. From there, gaining experience in digital marketing or demand generation roles at Maine-based technology or financial services companies builds the account-based foundation hiring managers look for. Certifications from platforms like Demandbase or HubSpot strengthen a candidacy without requiring any state-specific registration.
Which companies hire account based marketing specialists in Maine?
Employers hiring account based marketing specialists in Maine right now include Pediatric Developmental Services, MaineHealth, and Kennebec Behavioral Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maine's technology and financial services sectors, anchored by companies like Idexx Laboratories and WEX Inc. in the greater Portland area, represent the steadiest sources of ABM openings in the state.
Which Maine cities have the most account based marketing specialist jobs?
The cities with the most account based marketing specialist openings in Maine are Portland, Waterville, and Waterboro. Portland leads because it is home to Maine's largest concentration of technology, financial services, and healthcare companies that run formal ABM programs, while Augusta and Bangor contribute openings tied to state government contractors, regional healthcare networks, and mid-market B2B firms headquartered in those metro areas.
Are there remote account based marketing specialist jobs in Maine?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 43% of account based marketing specialist openings tied to Maine are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based, digital nature of the work. The portions of the role most commonly performed remotely include campaign planning, CRM management, and reporting, while account strategy sessions and sales alignment meetings are more likely to require occasional in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a account based marketing specialist in Maine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a demand generation coordinator or marketing operations associate role at one of Maine's larger technology or financial services employers, where ABM is part of a broader marketing team. Companies like WEX Inc. and Idexx Laboratories periodically hire marketing associates who rotate into account-based programs. Building a portfolio of targeted campaign work, even from academic projects or freelance clients, and earning a platform certification from HubSpot or Salesforce Marketing Cloud significantly improves a candidate's standing with Maine hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to account based marketing specialist jobs in Maine?
You can find and apply to account based marketing specialist jobs in Maine on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maine openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to each position that fits.
