Account Coordinator Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an account coordinator in Minnesota?
Most account coordinator roles in Minnesota require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or business, which is the standard entry point for agencies and corporate teams in the Twin Cities. No state-issued license or registration applies to this role. Minnesota employers, particularly agencies on the Minneapolis creative corridor and healthcare-sector firms in the Rochester area, typically look for internship experience, a portfolio of client work, or coursework in account management or integrated marketing.
Which companies hire account coordinators in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring account coordinators in Minnesota include Kipsu, Macy's, and Canteen, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and large healthcare organizations in the Twin Cities and Rochester makes it one of the more active markets in the Midwest for account support roles.
Which Minnesota cities have the most account coordinator jobs?
The cities with the most account coordinator openings in Minnesota are Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Anoka. Minneapolis dominates because it is home to a dense cluster of marketing agencies, corporate headquarters, and healthcare organizations, while suburban areas like Bloomington and Eden Prairie add openings from large regional and national employers that base their account teams there.
Are there remote account coordinator jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and they are relatively common for this role. About 50% of account coordinator openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves email, CRM systems, and virtual client calls rather than on-site presence. Client communication and campaign reporting tasks are the most frequently performed remotely, while onboarding new accounts or attending strategy sessions more often requires in-person attendance.
How can I get hired as an account coordinator in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or co-op with a Twin Cities marketing agency or a corporate communications team, which many Minnesota employers use as a direct pipeline to coordinator roles. Companies like General Mills and UnitedHealth Group run structured internship programs that convert to full-time offers. Lateral moves from customer service, inside sales, or marketing assistant roles are also common. Building a portfolio of campaign briefs, client reports, or social media projects gives candidates without formal experience a concrete differentiator.
