Account Operations Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an account operations manager in California?
Most California employers require a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field, followed by several years in account coordination, sales operations, or customer success roles. There is no state-issued license specific to account operations managers in California. Candidates who advance fastest typically build proficiency in Salesforce or a comparable CRM, gain exposure to revenue operations workflows, and move into the manager title from senior coordinator or account analyst positions at California-based technology, financial services, or healthcare organizations.
How much do account operations managers make in California?
Account operations managers in California earn a median of about $77,590 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,870 for the lowest 10% to over $121,650 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account operations managers in California?
Employers hiring account operations managers in California right now include Finish Line, AutoZone, and Gap, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's dense concentration of enterprise technology companies, financial institutions, and large healthcare systems means demand for this role is consistent and distributed across multiple industries rather than tied to a single sector.
Which California cities have the most account operations manager jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego have the most account operations manager openings in California. The distribution follows California's major commercial centers, with San Francisco and the broader Bay Area driven by enterprise SaaS and fintech employers, Los Angeles anchored by media, healthcare, and professional services firms, and San Diego supported by its life sciences and defense technology sectors.
Are there remote account operations manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. Account operations manager work is desk-based and heavily reliant on CRM platforms and digital communication tools, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 10% of account operations manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how normalized distributed work has become across California's technology and financial services employers. The portions of the role most commonly performed remotely include reporting, CRM administration, and internal stakeholder coordination.
How can I get hired as an account operations manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an account coordinator, sales operations associate, or customer success associate role at a California-based technology or financial services company. Large California employers including Salesforce, Oracle, and major regional banks regularly hire into associate-level operations programs that build toward the manager level. A demonstrated command of Salesforce or HubSpot, even through self-directed certification, gives candidates without direct experience a concrete advantage when applying to these entry programs.
Where can I find and apply to account operations manager jobs in California?
You can find and apply to account operations manager jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across industries and metros. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the employers posting them.
